Psychological Assessments

What is it?

  • Psychological assessment combines information from different sources (self-report, psychological tests, etc) to develop an understanding of a person’s cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.

  • This information can then help determine the appropriate diagnosis, assist in treatment planning or monitoring progress and also provide insights into strengths, weaknesses, and tailored recommendations.

  • It usually includes objective tests, self-reports, interviews, collateral information, and observations to evaluate mental health and behavior.

  • Provides recommendations & accommodations.

Who should be referred?

  • Patients with complex issues or uncertainty about a diagnosis.

  • Children who are experiencing difficulty with attention, behavioral issues, or learning difficulties.
